hello all! yep tuesday night here. "saturday" night on my crazy new schedule. weird. it will take some getting used to. definitely. i had a good day. i went to see my mom at her work and, lucky her, she works at one of the most beautiful places around here. so awesome! my niece, taylor, has been up staying with nana & papa and my step dad brought her out, too. we had and awesome lunch and i took some pics of taylor. she's a pretty good little sport about me snapping pics of her ALL the time. if she lived closer, she'd be my little model ALL the time. :) (i'll share photos tomorrow night)
i also worked on my "book" for my learn something new everyday project. i think i love how it turned out. you want to see?
it's an old reader's digest book i got at the thrift store awhile back. i think it was 10 cents and i got it because i loved the colors of it and knew i wanted to make it into a binder someday. well, someday is here! yay!
now, i really can't wait for class to start.
i also ordered some new sneaks today. i'm really excited for them to get here, too.
i LOVE that they are gray. i LOVE that they are uggs. and, i LOVE that i got an awesome deal on them! (almost 50% off and free shipping!)
ok. have a great night! tomorrow i have a breakfast date with julie and then we are off to the thrift store. can't wait!!!
peace.
Alissa,
Love the idea of a repurposed book for this class. I have signed up and can't wait! I saw some of your images on Flikr from last year's class and would love to see what you come up with this year. Do you mind sharing your source for the binder mechanism? Did you use a tutorial? I have never tried this before but it looks like fun. Thanks!

thanks, nikki!
i got my binder mechanisms from janet hopkins on etsy.
here's a link to her shop: http://www.etsy.com/listing/53446212/small-binder-mechanism
i didn't use a tutorial. shimelle made one similar last year, but mine is a bit different.
just cut the pages out of the book.
cover the messy center part with paper or decorative tape.
i glued the mechanism down with Quick Grip adhesive and then used brads, for extra hold, in the holes of the mechanism.
enjoy!
