i know, it's a retailer's thing. but, all of this "christmas in july" business got me thinking about my annual journal your christmas book i create along with shimelle and TONS of other ladies throughout the world. thinking about what book i will use this year. what i will prepare early. ('cause that was the key last year.) and, thinking about putting some kits together to sell in my etsy shop. basically, they would be base books similar to the one i used last year and, maybe, some sort of numbering system.
what do you think? i'm just trying to decide if the work would be worth it. trying to determine if this is something some of you might want.
i'm thinking it could include plain chipboard covers, 36 pages from christmas papers and other fun items, 3 rings and, maybe numbers and other special treats.
please leave comments with your thoughts. i LOVED using this format and would love to share it with others.
off to treasury this morning. have a great monday and take photos!
woohoo! shimelle's got a new class starting soon! those of you that know me, know i LOVE her classes. i have met many of you in her classes. most notably, the christmas journal one. (i can't wait for this year. i'm already planning in my head. :) )
this one starts august 3. go check it out on her blog. go to press.
good morning! happy tuesday! it's picnic tuesday and we're going to meet up with tammy t and her girls after the picnic to knit. fun, right? i can't wait! photos of today's adventures to come. :)
back to sunday. mom picked me up at 7:30am and we went to breakfast.
when breakfast was done, we still had time and headed over to starbucks for a coffee and a drink to go.
i love this shot with mom in the background.
what was the drink to go?
love these! the bottles are so cute too. i save them for flowers.
then it was off to the 9:30am showing of harry potter! yay! so excited! wasn't a mirror to the book, but still very entertaining.
this is NOT the best shot but it was dark in there and i didn't want to use my flash. oh, and people were coming and mom rushed me. so, she's a little out of focus. oh well. i love it anyways. the memory is the important part, right? :)
i was home by 1:00pm and ready for a nap. LOL.!
that was my weekend. fun one.
remember the projects i mentioned a few times earlier this month? i can finally show them to you.
this is an 8x8 shadowbox. i took out the glass.
i LOVE this girl! (oh, and i get to see her this morning. for like a minute.)
is funness a word? i like it. even if it's not. i had a good weekend. technically, it's not over until tuesday night for me, but this post is more about the "real" weekend. saturday and sunday.
saturday i worked. not much fun but it was my "friday" so, not too bad. it was also elke's birthday. happy belated birthday, elke. patti set up a surprise for her on saturday night. julie and i and a few other TOM girls and a group of elke's other friends met up at scotty brown's, a fabulous restaurant in town, to surprise her. she was surprised! it was fun. julie and i shared a bbq chicken pizza. only problem, it had corn on it. corn on the cob is the best but corn on pizza is not the best. it was ok. the rest of the pizza was awesome though and made up for the corn.
cute personalized birthday cupcakes. (yummy too)
miss heidi, miss jolene and miss mary. aren't they adorable?
here is a group shot. ran a few different actions on it. i think the polaroid one is becoming my favorite. which do you like? (they are a bit grainy due to it was dark and my camera was on 3200 iso. embrace the grain :) ) this one is just a little contrast fiddling.
this one is a cool b&w one i usually love.
this one is the polaroid action. i love it.
ok. off to work at treasury today. have a great monday and take photos!
i recently created this mini book for treasury. i love doing store samples. i get to try things out i wouldn't normaly venture into and, usually, find i love them. last fall i created my first all clear book and fell in love. my latest mini is also a clear book. the cover is a combo of several different techniques i've been wanting to try and this book created by ronda palazzari pushed me into finally doing it.
it's just one snapshot each from all of the fun things i did last summer. i'm missing a page. my 4th of july page. i will add it in when i get a photo taken. oh, and that white ribbon is not part of the book. it's just the leash holding it down in the store. :)
alright. have a great tuesday. i'm off to lynden this morning for the first Jacob family tea party of the summer. i can't wait!
i had saturday off. i got to sleep in, a bit, and then took on the moving project i have been planning for awhile. i have a scrapbook room. i know i'm fortunate to have a room. i didn't have a room in my last house and i dreamed of having a room. so, when we moved here, i loved that i had a room. long story short, i don't like being in the room. i feel isolated and alone. yeah, it's just down the hall. but, it's still in the other room and i like being able to be in the same area with steve and i love being near the kitchen. i can cook dinner and create at the same time. :) so, i've created an area in the dining over the past year that i love. the only problem was i had a small round table there and my BIG cool table was still in the room down the hall. i've been debating purchasing a new table and have done a lot of research online. why was i looking to buy a new table when the table i loved was just down the hall? moving. that's why. moving that big, HEAVY table would be a job. we have a house guest coming at the end of the month and the great table debate needed to be resolved before the guest arrived. so, on saturday i took on the job and, what a job it was! but, it's done and i LOVE it. i'm not totally organized yet and i have more of the white cubes to assemble but i'm getting there and i LOVE the results. so much more room to create! yay! wanna see some pics?
so, the scrapbook room is now a scrapbook/knitting/sewing storage area and i love my new area to create. yay!
i'm off to work at treasury this morning. have a great monday and take photos.
sunday was a pretty productive day. paper and glue wise, anyways. i completed 2 layouts, 2 cards and worked on a mini book. pretty good, eh? i can show you one of the layout now. the rest of the stuff will have to wait a bit. ;)
happy tuesday! this is my last tuesday to go to work for the next month. i go back to my regular schedule of 4 10s starting next week until we realign schedules. only 1 other 5 day week in august. yay!
i made my monthly trek to my fabulous hair girl on monday and look what awesomeness i walked out of there with. 3 colors! i love it! i don't think i've ever had 3 colors at 1 time. if you don't count the gray, i mean. i just love it!!!!
you like that colored tape frame? i found those this morning on kitschy digitals. so cute. there are transparent ones and opaque ones. so cute. i love all the colors. here's another one i did this morning. love this yellow. btw...i love this photo of hannah from the other night. she's getting so grown up. so not a baby any more.
ok. off to work. have a great tuesday. take photos.
just one photo from the 4th to share right now. i haven't been able to get through the photos yet, but i must say, they are sooooooooooooo very different from last year's photos. last year steve and i went to the big fireworks show in blaine. all by ourselves. it was fun. we had a great time getting great photos. this year, my nephew and his family were here and he bought A LOT of fireworks to launch at my mother in laws house. we had a great time. the kids had a great time and i got some shots i love.
here's my one for today. it's ayden. he's almost 8. hilarious kid. almost as hilarious as his little brother. oh, and he sounds just like his cousin, alex. weird, right?
it was pitch black when i took this photo. LOVE the 3200 iso on the 30d. i even love the grain. i think it adds some cool texture to the photo.
have a great monday. i'm off to get my hair colored later and i've got some projects to work on.
sorry it's so late in the day, k, but the same amount of love is still there! happy, happy birthday! i've got something fabulous planned for you, but you'll need to come visit us so you can take it home! :)
here's a favorite snap of me and my k last summer when she was here.
