at least i remembered this month. well, at least i remembered to sign up for the reminders last month when i forgot. ;) we'll see how tomorrow goes. it's my day off. :)

scrappy stuff...

i just realized i haven't posted any scrappy stuff in awhile. i just haven't thought about it. here's some layouts and a canvas shadowbox i just finished yesterday.

this is the back of a 12x12 canvas. there is a sheet of acetate on the front under the scalloped border strips. the title is on the acetate and its vinyl.

visitors...

we had a family of visitors last night. in broad daylight, even! remember the smackdown in julie's backyard? well, they have cousins in ferndale. the pics are a bit blurry. it was dusky and i didn't get the settings right due the rush of getting the photos before they left.

that's a mama and 2 babies. i have to admit the babies are cute, but they weren't attacking a cat and her kitten at my house. just out for an evening stroll and they didn't notice it was still light out.

what a fourth...

what a great day i had yesterday. a little different than a normal 4th but still awesome! i met mom bright and early yesterday morning for breakfast and then off the the apple yarn store for their 4th of july sale that only ran from 8-12. WOW, were there a lot of ladies in there! i picked out my things and then had to give them to mom to hold while i ran outside for some fresh, cool air! i found some fabulous stuff. let's see, a cool green messenger bag (i'll take a photo and post later), some yarn to make a scarf and a hat, a set of needles and some super cool books. we then headed over to starbucks for some refreshment.

then we went to treasury so mom could get some stuff to make gifts and visit a bit with patti and sandy. what a sale! if you have time this weekend, you need to get over there. 40% off one item, 30% off all patterned paper and a super cute summer mini book kit designed by elizabeth for only $10.

then it was home for some lunch and a nap. after all, we were going to be up late. ;)

this year i really wanted to get some great firework photos and the only way to do that was to go to a show. bellingham is too big with too many people and i had heard the ones in blaine were awesome. so, off to blaine we headed with tripod, camera and some iced tea. we weren't really sure what the best angle would be since we had not been to the fireworks show in blaine before. we found a great place to park and set up the tripod. when the show started, we were definitely not disappointed.

these are just a few of my favorites. maybe i will add an album for my fireworks.

happy birthday, k...

it's my favorite k's birthday today and i almost forgot to post a big ole happy birthday to her.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KRISTI!!! You are my very favorite k and i love you!

kristi is my niece who is more like a sister these days. she was 11 when steve and i got married and i was barely 20. 9 years apart is not much when you get older. and, we are older, k. i hate to say it, but it's true. but, look what "old age" has brought us. we are closer than ever. :)
